Miner Guide

Put your machine to work for the field. Earn ZIR.

Run the ZIRA app and lend your hardware to the network. When your machine helps answer a question, you earn ZIR, the network's unit of work. No rig to buy, no external model to install, no account to open. Your machine answers the field with the network's own model, automatically. Here is how it works, and how to earn more.

Two toggles, then you earn

Install the ZIRA desktop app, open the Mine page, and turn on both switches:

  1. MiningLends this machine to the field. Your node relays questions, coordinates models, and joins the network's work.
  2. StorageYour node receives the field's distributed model and holds it. Hosting the model is what lets you answer, and it earns a steady baseline on its own.
  3. Answer automaticallyWith both on, your machine serves the model and answers questions on its own. Nothing to configure, and it works behind a home router or NAT with no port forwarding and no UPnP.
One network model, no setup. You never connect Ollama, LM Studio, or any outside server. Every miner answers with the same network model, so answers line up and settle cleanly. Your machine picks the largest field model it can run.

How you earn

Two streams pay into the same balance: a baseline for hosting the model, plus coordination pay every time you help answer.

Storage baseline

Hosting the field's model earns a steady, shared payout for staying online and holding the data. It is split among the miners doing the work.

Answering

Each answer that converges with the field earns coordination pay, weighted by your trust (ZTI), your confidence, and how closely your answer agrees with the others. Accurate answers earn more; divergent ones earn little.

Trust (ZTI) is built over time through accurate answering and tenure. The higher your trust, the bigger your share of every paid answer. Idle nodes earn nothing; a running, answering node earns on both streams.

How to earn more

Stronger hardware earns more, automatically. A more capable machine runs a bigger field model, answers faster, and agrees more often with the field, so it wins more queries and takes a larger slice of each one. You configure none of this. Keep the app running, keep Storage on, and let your machine serve the largest model it can. Everything else, the model choice, the routing, the payout, the network handles.

Stay online

Consistent uptime keeps your storage baseline flowing and builds the tenure behind your trust.

Answer accurately

Agreement with the field is what pays. Over time, accurate answering raises your ZTI and your share.

Good to know

Do I need a GPU? No. A regular CPU machine earns the storage baseline and answers the smaller field model. A GPU serves a larger model and earns more from answering.

Does it work at home? Yes. Your node pulls questions and publishes answers over the network, so it earns behind a normal home router or NAT with no port forwarding and no UPnP.

Where do I see my earnings? The Mine page shows your activity and balance. The Explorer shows the network live, including the answerers leaderboard.

Prefer to mine in a pool?

ZIRA pays every miner directly, so you never need a pool. If you would rather combine your earnings with other miners, a pool collects and shares out the ZIR by contribution, while your machine keeps doing the work.
